At UMA, we focus first on
speaking and understanding the language naturally. Just as children learn to speak before they learn grammar, we believe fluency starts with real conversation and listening. Once a strong foundation is built, we then introduce the rules of the language — using examples from the Qur’an to deepen both comprehension and connection. This method helps students develop confidence in speaking, while gradually building their knowledge of grammar and structure in a meaningful, faith-based way. At Uma, we assess each student across four key Arabic skills — Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking — to ensure you’re placed at the right level.
